Basics
This section is for Excel users who have just started using Excel. It explains some Excel Basics.
1 Excel Workbook: A workbook is another word for your Excel file. In this chapter, learn how to open an existing workbook, how to close a workbook, and how to create a new Excel workbook.
2 Excel Worksheets: A worksheet (or spreadsheet) is a collection of cells where you keep and manipulate the data. This chapter teaches you how to select, rename, insert, move, delete and copy a worksheet.
3 Excel Ranges: A range in Excel is a collection of two or more cells. This chapter gives an overview of some very important range basics.
4 Format Excel Numbers: When we format Excel numbers, we change the appearance of a number without changing the number itself.
5 Find & Replace in Excel: You can use Excel's find feature to quickly find specific text. You can use Excel's replace feature to quickly find specific text and replace it with other text.
6 Excel Cell Comments: You can add a comment in Excel to give feedback about the content of a cell.
7 Excel Data Validation: You can use data validation in Excel to make sure that users enter certain values into a cell.
8 Drop-down Lists in Excel: Drop-down lists are helpful if you want to be sure that users select an item from a list, instead of typing their own values.
9 Excel Templates: Instead of creating a workbook from scratch, you can create a workbook from a template. There are many free templates available, waiting to be used!
10 Quick Access Toolbar: If you use an Excel command frequently, you can add it to the Quick Access Toolbar.
11 Printing in Excel: This chapter teaches you how to print the entire worksheet or just a selection and how to change some important print settings.
12 Keyboard Shortcuts: Keyboard shortcuts allow you to do things with your keyboard instead of your mouse to increase your speed.
