Import Access Data

This Excel tutorial teaches you how to import data from a Microsoft Access database. In Excel, when you import data, you make a permanent connection that can be refreshed.

To import data from a Microsoft Access database, execute the following steps.

1. First, save northwind.accdb to your local drive.

2. On the Data tab, in the Get External Data group, click From Access.

3. Select the Access file.

4. Click Open.

5. Select a table and click OK.

6. Select how you want to view this data in your workbook (Table, PivotTable Report, PivotChart and PivotTable Report) and click OK.

Import Data

Voila. Your database records in Excel. Ready to be analyzed!

7. When your Access data changes, you can click Refresh to update the data in Excel.
